3com OfficeConnect Router Weirdness....

I have a 3com OfficeConnect ADSL Modem/Wireless Router connected to my desktop pc,

I'm, typing this message on it right now and have no problems accessing webpages generally.

I have disabled the router firewall and running windows firewall.

Now nearly all my programs connect via the router (ethernet connection) but a couple, voipcheap and voipbuster will not connect (even although they are enabled in windows firewall as exceptions?)...

Yahoo Messenger works fine and MSN messenger (for unknown reasons) no longer connects (both are in the exceptions list in WFW).

Doing a trouble shoot with MSN the IP checks as OK but when it gets to default gateway it tells me:

"Your gateway appears to be offline"

It then asks me click the repair button....

Then after a few seconds:

"Progress...Completed

Now as soon as I try to login the password field "blanks" itself and ah heck all happens?

Now if I click on Windows Messenger that logs in no problem at all...with the same account.

Other wierdness includes not being able to update AVG Free...

Running Emule works perfectly but then I can no longer surf the net...even after closing Emule. I need to reboot to get back to browsing.

Now all these problems happen with a "wired" ethernet conenction to the router.

While all of these problems are occuring I can do any of the above tasks on the laptops in the house using the wireless connection....without any trouble whatsoever.

I'm slightly confused to say the least....😕

Nobody got any ideas at all?....🙁

I'm still in the same situation all wireless connections are perfect and wired connection as described above...

hmmm. some ideas:
check your hosts file, and make sure it is "empty"
run antispyware
go to housecall.antivirus.com and run a full scan
the fact that you cannot update AVG is of concern
