3Com Network Interface Cards/LAN Cards

What's the difference between the 3Com 3c905c-tx, 3c905cx and the 3c905tx?

I've tried to search for 3c905cx and 3c905tx in 3com's site but failed. So, is there any differences between the three?

I'm in the market for a new NIC to setup a LAN at home. I currently have a 3com 3c905c-tx.

hmm, it's all about the money baby.
hmm, maybe they soddered an extra lil chip on to each card, and raise the model number 🙂
i say, any cheap 100base card will do for me 🙂

Toms Hardware just have an article up reviewing a few NICs. It did have three 3Com in the review 2 of which have a cryptic model number like the ones you've listed (Do you seriously expect me to remember the numbers?! 😛 You might like to check it out.

Since you said you are looking for a "new" card I thought I would point out that 3Com only makes 3C905C-TX-M, 3C905B-TX-NM, 3C905B-COMBO (from the 905 family).

If you don't need WOL, then just stick with the "B" class. The 3C905C-TX-M has WOL and "network management." If you had to pay retail, I would not bother with the 3Com line...

I have a couple 3C905B-TX-NM in my home network and they are nice. I would recommend them, but I bought mine on ebay for about 1/2 price. 🙂
