I wasnt sure where to put this so I put in general, sorry if it should be somewhere else. Anyways,

Im trying to update my 3com Gigabit LOM (3c940) and I think I have the latest version but Im really not sure if its right. I checked a mess full of driver sites and most of them said V1.0.0.46 was the latest (which was released like late 2003 which seems weird to be the latest), but all the sites would link me to the 3com's page to download the driver but they dont have 3c940 drivers there anymore, I guess because my mobos older (asus p4p800 deluxe). So I checked filefront and they had a mess of them including a even newer driver, V3.11.050.

Does anyone know what the latest one is? And how do I install it :-\ I never learned how and im getting sick of having P2P problems with the world of warcraft downloader (it says the problem is the 3com not being updated)

so,

Version 5.0.2.1003 2003/10/20 update
Description 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940) Driver V1.00.00.0046 for Windows
File Size 8.88 (MBytes)

When I go to device manager, double click 3com, and click the driver tab it says "Driver Version: 1.0.0.46" Does this mean im already updated all the way? Or its 1.00.00.0046 just the chips version, not the driver.

If you or anyone else think that your 3Com NIC is causing WoW downloader issues, pick up a $15 NIC locally, install it, then disable your onboard NIC and see what happens.

I mean, its a not a totally big problem that id go buy a NIC card for, but I just was trying to figure out if I could fix the problem but updating drivers.

With all WoW patches I just download them from elsewhere

So would

Version 5.0.2.1003 2003/10/20 update
Description 3Com Gigabit LOM (3C940) Driver V1.00.00.0046 for Windows

be the right driver to install? I was looking in DriverGuide Toolkit (shows you driver "version"s of all devices on your pc) and it says "3Com Gigbit LOM (3c940) 1.00.00.0046".
