Beware - This modem may or may not work with att.

Also $105 is not a great price, these went as low as $65 sometime ago.

I have this modem working with Cox Roadrunner, incase anyone cares. They dont have it in their database, but they provisioned the modem as a 3CR29220 instead and it worked just fine.

amazon.com has this for $89.99 before the $20 coupon, or a used one for $53. My friend has this and it works with AT&T broadband.

as long as it is DOCSIS compliant, which it is, then It is compatiable with all Cable companies. I use this modem with my ATT. 3com discontinued all of their cable modem products. 3com has good support, but in the future they may not support the discontinued line.

I bought it from amazon for $89.99 and sent out the $20 rebate (2 weeks ago). I was also able to use a $10 off $75 coupon, I don't know if that's still runnning.

ATT's list of acceptable cable modems

3Com® (no longer manufacturing cable modems)
CMX 2940
3CR29220
3CR29221
3CR29223

The OfficeConnect model 3CR29210 ain't on the list for ATT Broadband.
An omission or, even it is a DOCSIS, don't work on ATT?

Don't ya' just hate this sorta' uncertainty!

Apologies for raising it!

That link goes to a 3com modem for only $80 now... before anything else going on - I haven't looked for coupons yet even. I notice this isn't on ATT's list... but the numbers are awefully close to the others that do show on it.

Anyone know if this is good for ATT? Porbably is, but would like a "for sure". Seems like a good deal w/ coupons.

Over at Amazon there's a $20 MIR for it, so we're down to $60 total plus $5 shipping. Nice!

Another thread indicated that this modem IS ok for AT&T if used at home... supposedly a tech on the phone told the guy posting. I may give it a shot.

Where's those coupons?

THIS MODEM DOES NOT WORK ON AT&T @attbi.com cable networks......

THIS MODEM DOES NOT WORK ON AT&T @attbi.com cable networks......
THIS MODEM DOES NOT WORK ON AT&T @attbi.com cable networks......

On the box it says "Cable installer: use 3CR29220 for setup" Despite this, this modem will NOT get a signal from the cable.
Why do I know this? cuz I bought one from Amazon.com (like $60 after rebate) only to not have it work. I tried and tried...no go.

I just ordered the Toshiba cable modem (LINK) I considered the linksys cable modem (Link) but decided against it.

Why? Linksys is $105 w/1 year warranty. Toshiba is $125 w/5 year warranty. The extra $20 is worth it to me....plus it's gotten good comments from various users....and it's black like the rest of my computer equipment.

I agree with everyone else here. I bought the 3CR29210 and could never get it to work with Cox Kansas Roadrunner. I was on support line for minimum two hours before we gave up. I had no less than three people trying to get it provisioned. Then, I sent it back and never got my refund for well over three months. When I called and raised a fuss they decided to refund me my nearly $250 that I paid for it at that point. Not to mention that a few weeks after I bought it, they discontinued it and dumped the support off on some outsource vendor who knew next to nothing about the things other than they could only support it for 1 year and not 3 like the original warranty stated or some BS like that. My suggestion, stay away from them, far away. There's a reason they got out of the business afterall.

This modem work for me, I am using ATT over Sacramento, Ca. I read a lot of bad and a few good reviews about this modem. I was wondering the same thing... will it work? When I called ATT, they didn't even ask me what kind of modem I have. They gave me a link and I just simply went there and register my modem. My point is, ATT don't even need to know what modem I have at all..... By the way, I plugged my modem to the network card, not USB port. So I don't have to worry about the driver issue.
