I got a 3Com 3C510 upgraded firmware from 1.89f to ANB193p.BIN. It's not my first time to do firmware upgrade for the same router. It seemed it upgraded the firmware but while at "Restarting..." the status green light continuously blinking rapidly. I launched the ANB193s.EXE afterwards which says "192.168.2.1 crashed or unable to access." I clicked "Upgrade" it says found 1 device. Btw, I did not power off while firmware upgrade in progress but why I can't access anymore.

I interconnected two computers to this router and forced one to obtain IP and viewed "winipcfg | more info" getting 169.254.40.116, Net Mark 255.255.0.0, so I configured another machine as static 169.254.40.117 with the same Net Mask. I can ping between machines and able to do Network Neighborhood between to computers but it doesn't say what is the IP address of the router. I also tried hardware reset by shorting pin 3 and 8 in the COM1 port holding the pins shorted for 10 seconds after powering on, it did not work. I got a null modem DB9 cable and tried resetting using HyperTerm as per instruction in the 3Com web, neither worked.

Anyone has clue how to recover the router?
