3Com® SuperStack® II Switch 3000 Any good?

I guy wants offered to sell me one for $30, i tested it and it works fine. Is it a good switch for a home network?

Yes it's good! Remember that the ports are 100mbps ONLY so some print servers and older 10mpbs LAN cards won't work. This includes broadband routers. Buy it and if you can't use it, eBay it! 🙂

i thought most of the new routers are 100mbs now?

Not all of the LAN ports are 10/100. The newer ones AFAIK are. Cable modems like the Motorola SB4100 actually have 10/100 WAN ports!

So if i get a router thats 10/100 later on ill be able to use this switch with it
