On sale, normal price is $49.95 so 10% off.

Not burning hot but a good deal if you need a DVD player wit component out (like I do).

Comparing this to other $39.95 DVD players (like my cyberhome 300).

Coax and Optical Audio out.

Full size and Hefty. Felt a little heavier than most of the other models (even the philips). I find it iritating how small my $39 cyberhome is, it wants to slide around.

LED display (a lot of cheap players don't have this)

NICE remote. So much beter than my microscopic cyberhome remote. Nice space between the keys logical layout and it's a good size.

VERY responsive. Zoom, pause, frame by frame all happen instantly. My cyberhome is pretty good at this too but just a note this thing rocks on useability.

Nice feet on the thing to elevate it off any other equipment you are stacking it on top of (important for cooling).

When you are zoomed in and panning around there is a little box that comes up showing where you are in the screen. Also the panning is fairly smooth

Minuses:

DVD tray is very flimsy. (rest of the unit is solid).

Minor irritation: Zoom mode zooms in to 4x then it zooms out letting the picture take up only a part of the screen. Why would you EVER want to do this????????? Maybe ifyou were doing PiP?

I was going to buy this but they had the DVP642 for $60, so I figured, why not....though seems like a decent tertiary player.

MD.

I don't need the DIVX (does the 642 have anything else that I was missing?) and the DVP642 is $69 at my target. After using it this afternoon very happy with the Daewoo. Nice intuitive layout to the remote, overall I like it better than the Cyberhome 300 (which is still decent for the price).

Here are some reviews on amazon.com:

ok I can't do math.

I've used the player for another two days. So far it's the best player I have (other players: toshiba, panasonic, cyberhome 300, older daewoo) not bad for $39.95
