3870 Heat Question

Just built up my new system and decided to give crossfire a try. I got a pair of Diamond Viper Radeon HD 3870's for the video. I noticed, like everyone who has the 3870's has stated, that the fan's run slow so I downloaded rivatuner to speed them up (as both still have the stock hsf). My issue is the cards still seem to get fairly hot when playing games. Last night when playing stalker, the top one got to 85c with the fan at 100% while the bottom one was at 75c with the fan at 100%.

I've read where people have oc'd the cards and they never get above 55c when playing at full load. I don't know if my cards are defective (I highly doubt it) or if my case isn't getting enough airflow (thermaltake kandalf). None of the other components are running abnormally hot so not for certain if it's the case. Would an aftermarket hsf for the cards be a good route for me to try? If so, which would be a good recommendation?

85c is fine for a 3870. Mine gets up to the low 90's (stock fan speed settings) and I never have problems with it

mine go up to around 80-85c at full load. I just got 2 accelero s1 rev 2 hsf's for them and will install them tongiht and see how much they improve my temps. The accelero s1 rev 2 is supposed to be pretty good bang for the buck aftermarket cooler but then again I am not saying it is really necessary either.
