me and my dad were in the basement a couple days ago and we found an unopended 386 math-coproccessor from cyrix. Came with documentation of x87 floating point instructions. I thought this was really cool. Of course, we never actually owned a 386, but what the hell. :)

Keep it there; it may be antique in a little while. Look at how much Apple II comps are worth now :)

Or better yet, drill a hole in a corner to make it a cool-looking keychain! :D

actually mustpost, the 386 math coprocessor was known as the 387 :).

i had a 386 system w/ a 387 math coprocessor. man that was a long time ago. i ran it w/ dos. Loved it. i had win 3.11 installed too, but only used that to play solitaire.

I did a lot of statistical analysis w/ that computer, running Gauss, a matrix oriented programming language. it was fun, i could kick most anyones but back then for statistical analysis, (this was before the days of the big bad 486 :) )

You could clear out a spot in your basement and start a museum, that's what I eventually want to do with all my old computer stuff. Just for nostalgia sake, and it would be a good conversation starter, that's for sure.
