384MB RAM on a CUSL2

I bought an ASUS CUSL2 motherboard and 384MB of Mushkin Rev1.5 PC133 SDRAM (3x128mb DIMMs). After reading the Tom's Hardware (www.tomshardware.com) final review of i815E motherboards, I noticed that it said the motherboard only supports two rows of double-sided DIMMs. Will I not be able to use all 3 DIMMs? I'm really shocked that it has 3 memory slots and I will only be able to use them... That means I'll have one $170 stick of memory just sitting around. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

384 MB's (3x128) worked perfectly fine for me in my CUSL2 so it should work for you too :)

Dear Stephan,

I too have bought CUSL2 motherboard and have made extensive search of available reviews and benchmark studies
and quote some of the expert websites on hardware (www.anandtech.com & www.ixbt-labs.com & www.lostciruits.com) which in no ambiguous terms state that - In case PC133 memory is used with CUSL2, a total
of 2 DIMM slots can be occupied, otherwise, the memory bus defaults back to PC100 specification, that is,
3/4th FSB Mode.

Hence the PC133 performace capability of CUSL2 will not available to you if you insert the third memory module.

It may also be noted that buffered or registered DIMMs are not supported by this board.

SO IF YOU WANT YOUR CUSL2 TO WORK AT PC133, DO NOT USE THE THIRD MODULE

I am using a celeron while waiting for my P3 to arrive, so I was only using PC100... I guess that is why I didn't notice that problem with PC133... well that sucks b/c now I can't get any more RAM without losing the ability to run at PC133 or replacing the DIMMs that I currently own :(
