there is a difference of 128 mb. any more questions?

youll have to be more specific. what are you running? you probably wont notice that much difference. im running 384 from the original 256 in win2k pro and i cant really notice much difference. if you reboot your computer once a week there definitely no need for more ram. i ran my box for 30 straight days before a reboot on 256 mb of ram.

I have a gig of memory....ahahaha...I'm retarded. Anyways...I had some extra money to burn and it's good for my server. Other then that, there is no purpose in large amounts of memory. win98 systems shouldn't use more then 256k. Windows doesn't know what to do with the extra memory, and it likes is virtual memory better. If you are using it for you server, 512 should be sufficient. 256 is still good. 384...it'll be good for multi-tasking. Depends on you. I have a gig, and I run my graphics programs and I have my TV tuner card, and like 10 broswers opened...while acting as a file server to my roommates, and a dedicated server for counter-strike. Yes it's over kill...but oh well...I love over kill
