Is it worth the upgrade right now, or should I save my money and spend a bit more for something better?

The 450 would be a pretty decent upgrade. You have headroom from the rest of your system to get something faster, so you do have the option to save more money to buy a faster card. But as is, the 450 would provide a big improvement.

what psu do you have and what res are you wanting to play at? that 460 for 107 bucks is probably your best bet and is way faster than a gts450.

It's $115 AR shipped, but still a good deal.

That fan is awfully loud though. Look at reviews and more pictures of the fan. Tiny, thin, cheap. It keeps temps in check at the cost of a lot of sound.

The card was $ 90AR shipped just a few weeks ago and the sound killed it for me.

Get this MSI 460 768mb for $129 AR Shipped. It will be much quieter, likely cooler and have a better build quality. It too comes with Just Cause 2.

Hello,

I would do what I did and purchase a GTX 460 factory OC'd by Gigabyte, well whatever brand you prefer that is... I went from a 8800 to a 9800 with no difference, then I upgraded everything and your system is close to what I upgraded to except I purchased the 460 and honestly this setup runs everything I want it to and then some... I feel with your setup an upgrade to a 460 or whatever you choose will give you a nice change

an 8800gt and 9800gt were the SAME card so of course there was no difference.

i did 8800gs to hd6850.

I understand the performance should be doubled but I didn't feel anything much. in general mid/high settings were maxxed out and resolution was also upped from 1600x900 to 1080p. so maybe thats why.

I guess it'll depend on the game you play.

what cpu did you have because a 6850 is about 3 times faster than an 8800gs?
