hi, i got a quick question. Will the stock HSF on the 3800x2 fit onto a socket A motherboard with a 3000+ barton?

Not unless you're gonna do cutting and some ghetto zip tie/ glue / taping.

Absolutely not. As far as I remember, the stock K8 sinks are MUCH bigger than the heatsink mounting prongs on the Socket As.

By modding I meant cutting the heatsink, which is why I said it jokingly...so yes its much easier to buy a socket A heatsink like the CNPS 6000.
