3800+ X2 on Order

I ordered a Combo yesterday that included the 4200+ X2 (at $499) but today, when checking over things I noticed that the 3800+ X2 was available for preorder at $369.... that seemed like a good deal to me with what should only be a small reduction in performance. This will also give me more incentive to upgrade the proc in my mobo later. Do you think this was a good decision? Think of all the games I can buy with the extra $130... and when upgrading from my XP 2100+, I doubt I'll notice a difference between freaking fast and pretty freaking fast 😉

I will get a 3800+ once they become widley available..

2 x Venice (3200+'s) looks to be a good bet..

2.4-2.5ghz should be a shoe in..

😀

I still have a hard time letting go of 2.8ghz though..

They're 2 X 3200+ at 2.0 GHz ..... near as I can tell, if that's not correct let me know!! I don't plan to OC and losing 400MHz is too much!

Whoops, good catch..

That chip will still be extremely fast.. And you can overclock and leave the chip @ stock voltage.. 😀

Keep us posted.

Oh noes...the X2 3800+ has appeared, albeit, out of stock, at NCIX for less than $500 Cdn, thank god.

Now i have to fight teh temptation to buy...😛

Dude you shouldn't even bother.
a 2.8GHz A64 would aboslutely massacre just about anything else, esp. for the price (considering your large OC)

Lol Kensai, you must know though, I ordered a A64 3000+ & Asus Premium Motherboard Combo on Tuesday, and they already had it set up and shipped out this morning (3 days), not too bad.

Due to arrive on Tuesday, making the whole thing a one week affair.

Well, Monarch has officially shipped my order, 5 days ahead of the time I was told they would receive the processor -- so far they seem anything but slow and I've had excellent customer service.
