Thanks to getting mp3s for free, it has slowly forced me to buy more music, just because I know when I go buy the CD, i'm not gonna get a CD of crap.

Increasingly hysterical comments from RIAA chairperson and chief random-number-generator Hilary Rosen suggest that many billions of potential sales have been lost.

that was pretty funny :)

All the MP3s I DL are stuff you can't usually buy (ie: cartoon theme songs). The rest of mine are from MP3. Once I started getting into MP3s I started buying a bunch of CDs because then I had a convinient way to carry them around w/o a large risk of loss. Too bad I'm scared to buy a new CD anymore, there's a few bands that I'd like to listen to.

The fact is intellectual property just ISN'T property, at least not in terms conventional definitions and rules that have to be stretched and twisted to deal it. A class in copyright law will show you how woefully incompetent the courts are at dealing with these issues.
