How did you enable it on a B450 board with a 3000 series processor? Did I miss some piece of news that enabled it on older processors and older boards?

Yes Tomahawk B450 got the BIOS with SAM enabled recently. AMD stated a while back that 5xx series MOBOs and 5xxx series CPUs were only the initial ones getting support, gradually more would get it

Nice that it put Cyberpunk over the 60fps min. Control can get there too, with another setting tweak or 2.

i did not know this... this is good to know, now i can buy a cheapo 3600 and throw it in to test SAM on the 6900XT Nitro+ i have.

Yeah, I have sort of created a hobby out of my keeping my old Tomahawk B350 to see how much I can squeeze out of it. It runs my 3700X and Radeon 6800 very well . It even has the"Above 4G memory" option just not Resize-BAR.
I'm certainly not holding my breath, but considering I also didn't expect the Zen 2 BIOS to materialize there, it might still happen.

Good stuff. I still have my 3700X in a Gigabyte B350 board with a 5700XT. Only thing is with the BIOS I have on it (an earlier Zen 2 one with PCIe 4 enabled) I found my RAM reset to 2133 MHz after a restart. I am wondering if I need a later BIOS for XMP settings to be stable @ 3200MHz. The RAM isn't anything super fancy, definitely not B die, it is some sort of Patriot Viper. I like the computer though, it was the first Ryzen system board I had, the Gigabyte AB350M gaming 3. Micro ATX in a Fractal Design mini C. Was a good little rig to take to Quakecon 2017 :D

Today I enabled SAM on my gigabyte x570 Aorus Master with 3900x and rx 6900 xt but you have to enable both encode above 4g and sam in order for it to work. It really boosted my Time Spy score but in BF3 no change. If SAM is enabled you will see a new entry under your GPU resources in device manage called large memory range.
