AFter I install the motherboard drivers for Windows... it doesn't make it past the load bar... I've tried to roll it back and it still does that, I did flash the mobo w/ the most current bios.

I've updated several more drivers... Windows update, latest vid card, latest nforce ... ok ... now I don't want to restart because EVERY time I restart it goes to the windows logo with the load bar and will get stuck and lock up there...

I did activate on the mobo plug and play .. it was off... or should i leave it off?

ALL Help is appreciated.... thanks

Try using the last stable bios version. You do not want to use a beta version if you are experiencing problems.

Does the system successfully pass memtest86 or memtest86+ for over 10 hours?
Before loading the motherboard drivers, did you test the system with Prime95 for several hours?

After a clean install, first thing is to install the motherboard drivers, then Windows Service Pack 2, then other important system drivers.

have not tested any of those... I'm new to building this is my first build... mobo- ASUS A8N-E
RAM- Corsair Value ram 2gb kit
Video- ASUS 7800GTX
Hard drive- maxtor 120gb sata 150 8m cache
CPU amd 64 3700+ san diego
psu- atm is Ultra- X connect 500w
Hyundai L90D+ LCD
Wavemaster Case (with the firewire not connected and audio in the top hatch not connected because I don't know where they go on the mobo ;))

Now I do have an Antec neopower coming in the mail sometimes this week, so that should replace that...and a maxtor 250gb 16mb cache HD, but one question I have is there is a connector on the back of my 7800 gtx that has 6 holes, obviously for power its like a P4 cable.. but with 6 on it... and the connecter the ygave me w/ the card has a 6 pin on one end with 2 male what look like 4 pin power cables w/ only 3 pins in it... the kind you connect to HD's etc.. anyways... aside from that... I heard that the asus IDE driver causes some bugs so i didn't install that, that seemedto get me past the windows logo
then after updating drivers I woudl restart and got good results... everything up until the L90D+ driver... now I'm not sure if that is what caused it, because last night after I had loaded everything up I restarted, basically I saved all the "restart now" from all the drivers to one restart... anyways... through that I wasn't able to decide what caused me to lock up... I also noticed the ASUS Probe and some other accessories MAY have been causing it to lock up... I don't know ... this is my first build and almost forgot to even plug the p4 cable into the mobo, caught that before the case shut. But... I checked all the connections as far as I could tell everything seemed to be tight... wasn't getting high heat or anything...

I have NO idea who to ask via tech support I guess I can call Asus and see whats up...
