I am trying to decide between these 2 processors. I know they run at the same clock speed, but the L2 cache is 1 meg for the 3700+ and 512k for the 3500+.

I haven't kept up with Athlon 64 cores, is there any difference between these cores except the L2 cache ?

Given the similarities, is the current price difference of $30 a good value, or is that a little high or low ?

These processors come in pre-built Compaq systems, and those are the only ones I'm considering. I figure eventually I'll upgrade to a dual core, so I partly want to know if when I go to sell one of these processors, if the 3700+ will actually be worth more than the 3500+ on the used market ?

TIA

We just had this discussion yesterday - here

3700 (San Diego) uses a different manufacturing process from the 3500 (Venice) that handles current a little better - as a result, they OC more consistently. This may lend the 3700+ more resale value when it's time to trade it off.
