3700+, 754, worth it?

welp, i currently have whats in my signature. im not too happy about the idea of upgrading to a 939 setup, id rather max out what i currently have.

would going with a 3700+ 754 benefit me at all?
also, isnt the 4000+ 754 coming out in a month or two?

I don't think there will be a 4000+ coming for socket 754m it's pretty much a dead platform. Since you are already running at 2.3ghz, and the 3700+ is 2.4ghz, running at stock you wouldn't get a huge improvement, not sure how well it would OC. You can probalby squeeze some more out of your 3000+ with a little vcore and maybe a better HSF if it gets too hot.

your probly right. i havent even really tried upping the vcore at all. its still at default. i may play around with it a bit this weekend and see what it can really do. i may just get a small water cooling setup going, i really dont want to upgrade to a 939 setup, just got the 6800gs.

don?t waste any money on that old platform, especially if you looking to get water, its just not worth it. Just up the vcore to 1.6v-1.65v and see how far you can stably go. Save some cash and get a worthwhile s939 AGP NF3 platform down the road, ebay is your friend
