Hi all, I was wondering.. will images and blu-ray/dvd movies on a 37" Westinghouse LCD monitor at 19x10 will be noticeably worse looking than the same on a 28" LCD monitor? Say I'm sitting 2.5-3" away from the monitor, am I going to notice a difference display quality-wise? I can get a 28" LCD monitor or a 37" Westinghouse LCD monitor (TV w/o tuner), getting the latter for about $75-100 more. It would be a lot more viewing space, especially for TV and movies, but I'm wondering if I will not get image quality that is as fine with the larger display... I've seen notebook sized LCD panels with 19x12 resolution and 24" lcd monitors at the same resolution and they both look great. I hear everything gets stretched going to 28" and wonder if it gets noticeably worse going to 37".

Thanks in advance. Especially helpful would be input from people with 28" LCD and the Westinghouse 37" that's been featured in hot deals forum alot on various sites, going for under $600 w/o built-in tuner.

I love my 37" westinghouse. Got my a couple years ago for little under $600, and it works very nice. gaming, HD movies, web browser, .... all look great. I had to make a couple adjustments in the service menu to get it just right. The pic-in-pic works nice for watching tv and using the PC at the same time. If I had to do it over again this will still be my choice. Also it's great to see people face when they see it for the 1st time. :) It's that sharp.

I'm using the Westy along with a Dell 2707 WFP. I was running with dual Dell LCDs, but ordered a Westy to see what all the hype was about. Now, I'm selling one of my Dell's to a friend. ;)

The colors are better on the Dell, especially the blacks. However, the 37" completely rocks for PC gaming, xbox 360 and movies. The picture is crisp, and what it lacks in black levels, it makes up for in size :)

I don't notice any quality difference. Like NitroTurtle the black levels aren't great with the stock settings, but after adjusting the service menu there to the point where I'm very happy with it. My biggest problem is my eyes get strained after working on it for long periods of time. When that happens I have to adjust the backlight from 50% to 0%. It's a very bright screen at 100% sitting very close.

I know it is hard to believe, but it really isn't too big. I thought about buying the 32" Aquos because I thought 37" would be too big, but it isn't at all. Text is crisp and clear and I would never go back to a regular monitor now, nor would I use anything smaller than the 37" Westy. It does everything dual monitors will do, and much more.
