Well I got it up to around 2.3 Ghz on stock cooling before it start breaking 60c, and heading up to 65c. Don't look like stock cooling is going to be adequate. Thought I read some benchmarks of people hitting 2.8 on stock. Could have been mistaken.

Hell even this thing running at Stock feels a lot faster than my clawhammer 3700. Was installing quake 4, and browsing websites, and etc. That would have killed me on the claw.

I've been able to get as high as 2.9 GHz with my chip, but the vCore requirements were in excess of 1.5V to keep it stable at that speed. I'm currently running it at 2.6 GHz (1.42V) and my load temps are about 52-53C on a lapped Freezer 64 Pro with MX-1 thermal paste. I would suggest this heatsink if you want to take your overclock higher.

Also, since this is a 65nm chip, I would suggest not feeding it vCore in excess of 1.5V or allowing it to break 65C regularly.

Dropped the DDR speed down to 533, and cranked the clock speed up. Hitting 2.4 Ghz now. For some reason I can't adjust the CPU voltage in the CMOS. It's just grayed out. I only get high temps if I let the CMOS try to OC itself.

What kind of stock heat sink does it come with? (heatpipe?)

OMG what is wrong with you guys? My Orleans 3200 hits 2.45 STABLE (including glitchy BF2!) on stock VOLTS! This is with the cheap G.Skill at newegg. Divider at 667.

It's overclocking, so your mileage may vary as always. My chip will do just over 2.6 ghz on stock vcore, and will do over 2.9 ghz at 1.425v. After that, it takes some serious volts to get it stable, though it has gone up to 3.24 ghz before . . .

As far as your BIOS problems go Brad, I'm not overly familiar with the Biostar Tforce BIOS, but it sounds to me like some other setting may need to be changed before it will let you manually select vcore. Either that, or you need a different BIOS version.

Bradtechonline, I'm having similar issues with high temps. I have a Biostar TF7050-M2 and a brisbane 3600+. Stock cooling, and bios reports temps of 45-50C idle at stock settings. I'm still trying to figure out if this is because of incorrect temp readings or not.

Can anyone tell me if a stable Orthos run is a good indication of adequate temperatures? Since the brisbanes don't seem to want to report accurately, can I assume my temps are fine if there are no errors in Orthos?
