Installing now! Lets see how it goes and I am hoping that the experience is the same or better than the 360 version. Holy smokes it is taking forever to install though.
Anyone else play both versions and have an opinion either way?

Did you get it for $30 from Best Buy or price matched somewhere else?

Yeah, I got the $30 deal. That was too good to pass up to try PC. I played about 2 rounds and it is much easier to aim with a mouse. But then again, it is much easier for everyone else to aim too. We'll see how this goes!

The experience is so much worse, ha ha. What did you expect to be better about the PC version? IMO, MW2 is best served on consoles and best stayed-the-fuck-away-from on PC.

Why must we fight over PC and console gaming? Can't we just shut the hell up and game on?

It's not the hardware that counts......It's the games......Plain and simple. If the hardware doesn't have games worth playing, it's not worth owning that hardware.

This is why some games work better on consoles than PCs and vice versa.

Being that MW2 is an FPS game, I don't see how it could do bad on a PC?

Its funny how people ranted about MW2 shortchanging the PC players, stripping it of 'crucial' PC centric features and removing a lot of the control from PC players. And yet, it seems, everyone bought it anyway. Unfortunately, this means that we can all look forward to more of the same(probably more restrictions) from the big publishers in the future.

I knew the third Star Wars movie was going to be HORRIBLE, but I saw it anyway. I had to.

This isn't the same, but you get my drift.

I didn't buy it, and never plan on it. If I get it as a Christmas gift, I'm returning it.

Why do you guys like it more on the 360? Is it some anecdotal reason like your friends play on there? I play with 5 people on the PC version and since the first patch the matchmaking has been working right for groups so it's much less annoying now.

I would like to know as well. It plays ridiculously well on PC :)

One of the reasons I like it for PC is the graphics are that much better. It isn't really fair how I judge though as I play both 360 and PC on the same monitor. I am sure if I had the 360 hooked up to a TV than it would probably look better from a distance. I just like controlling with a mouse too...

i refused to buy it because of that and i know more than a few people who did the same.

Wrong. It's the other way around. If certain games happen to be only available on hardware other than PC it's not worth owning those games. Plain and simple. ; )

It's "preference" and absolutely nothing else.

Plain and simple.

I played MW2 a few hours with my cousins on the Xbox, and was ultimately left unimpressed. It's nice that they changed around some gaming mechanics, but the single player is short and the multiplayer (despite the changes) seems too much like CoD4 to get a new experience out of.

I usually go around calling it CoD4.2, but the fanboys get angry. :(

EDIT: Holy smokes, my response wasn't even on topic!

I don't see why you should deviate from the 360 other than playing with a kb + mouse....but since you seem like a regular 360 player, I see no reason at all then. PC version has no perks that a PC version should usually have (dedicated servers, modding, graphics, etc).

I was going to buy it, but after the changes were announced I decided to obtain it through other means. If they ever decide to put dedicated servers in, I will most likely get a legitimate copy.

I was gonna boycott it but I broke down and got it new for $46 on eBay. I am a weak, weak person.
