360 games for two players

Got a friend who is thinking about buying a 360 (only has a Wii atm). He'd like to play some games. What are some games that have good multiplayer gaming? Looking for a decent campaign that won't be too difficult for a new player.

You might want to be a little more specific on game type.

In the first person shooter genre, you might try Halo 3, or Halo Reach if you want a new game. My wife and I played through both campaigns, and she's pretty bad 🙂.

Here's a list of coop games.

Aside from the Halo franchise...

Gears of War is great for co-op campaign. I also play horde with my brother and friends quite often.

My brother and I recently discovered Borderlands which, while it has an incredibly weak story, has been a tons of fun via co-op (and just generally for the Diablo looter in me).

The Lego franchise is pretty fun as well, and I've heard good things about Marvell Ultimate Alliance.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of arbitrary restrictions on multiplayer gaming with the 360.

Most games that support multiplayer at least support one player per console. A fair amount also support two player split screen, and a few can have up to 4 players on the same system.

But there are often restrictions. For example, Borderlands has a split screen mode, but there is no way of combining the split screen with LAN or online play. So you couldn't have two people on one Xbox and two people on another all playing in the same game.

The Halo series has always been great about this. You can have 4-player split screen even in Xbox Live. The only limit is the campaign can only have 2-player split screen despite supporting up to 4 players (up to 2 per console).

He's not a gamer, but looking into a 360, so I can't really be specific on what game type. It would only be two people playing, so the combining part doesn't affect me. I'm just looking for some ideas. I only play single player, so I'm a bit lost on it.

I'll have to check out that site when I get home Thraxen. Thanks.
