360 3 blinking red lights. How long does the towel trick fix your 360? MS is sending me a box

Well, I the towel trick lasted me about 2 weeks till I RRoD'd again. I had already submitted the repair request with MS when I got my first RRoD, so I had the shipping box handy. When I finally got it again last week, I shipped it out the next day. You can try the towel trick again and hopefully get lucky, but I just said screw it and will deal with not having a unit for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Towel trick worked for 2-3 hours at a time for me. I had the same concern - fix it and then send it back while it's still temporarily functional.

Luckily(?) for me it died again before my coffin arrived, so I didn't bother trying to revive it again and just waited to ship it out.

Though, if it worked, I would still send it in - chances are high they'll send you a fixed one regardless.

Well it's working now without messing with it. Weird.

My 360 was solid for about a year and then all the sudden it froze and red ringed on me while playing COD4. I quickly turned the 360 off and on again and it worked like a charm for about a week. Then it RROD for real.

I give your 360 about 6 days before it goes under for good.

Yup, that's exactly what happened to mine. My replacement is due here Thursday.
