What? When was it not possible to be anonymous on a forum? Were there "forums" set up through sneakernets, where everyone knew each other's real identity, before BBS?

Sending things electronically automatically allows anonymity, therefore forums (as I know them) have always been able to be anonymous.

How do we know that some here aren't test scripts for an AI?

Hey H0ney, I know the history of the internut. I was online (not on BBS's only) back since 1982-1983 when I was all of 11-12 years old.

AT used to be a place almost everyone had a real email address associated with their account.

Today it's a different landscape.
