I never realised the forums were so large.

Forums in general don't get the attention they used to; the slowing down here isn't just AT-specific imo. I think Facebook, the chans, and Reddit have collectively taken away a lot of traffic.

Eh, to an extent but it still depends. I started my internet adventures on gaming forums, and a lot of those guys (now gone) were crazy and perverted 4chan-prototypes, but there are also some decent people that stopped caring about the anonymity-factor forums provide, and talk with their old internet buds through Facebook like an ordinary friend.

What? When was it not possible to be anonymous on a forum? Were there "forums" set up through sneakernets, where everyone knew each other's real identity, before BBS?

Sending things electronically automatically allows anonymity, therefore forums (as I know them) have always been able to be anonymous.

How do we know that some here aren't test scripts for an AI?
