36-37 second pause at post after memory count

This is a new problem with this k7s5a computer I am building.

It did not hav this problem before I changed the hardrive from a 30 gb wd to a 80 gb wd.

The post goes pretty fast but hangs for 32-37 seconds after the memroy count, then it recognizes the harddrive, cdrw, cdr drives then everything boots up normally.

I have have enabled fast boot up at the bios.
I believe its the harddrive reading thats causing the long delay. (XP is on 4 gb partition)

Is there a way to speed this up? could this indicate a harddrive problem?

Thanks

Do you have the memory settings in the BIOS correct? The hard drive is not the problem because XP does not start loading until after the drives are recognized. Can you try different memory?
