35mm film SLR camera suggestions

My girlfriend works in a photo lab and has been begging for a film SLR for a while now. She knows she wants film, so please don't suggest digital. She would prefer to buy one used as she's not sure how much she'll use it yet. She requested a Canon EOS, GII or Rebel.

I've looked at a few listings on ebay, but I have no idea how to value the different cameras. Are the bodies generally the same? What makes one better than another? Any valuable features to look for? I'm hoping to pick up a kit (case, lens, body) for under $200.

The GII is better than the Rebel, I thought. That's what I have right now along with the Rebel XT.
