35mm camera lense adaptor?

I have a ~20 year old Nikon FM camera with a 52mm lense. I also have a Vivitar 200mm telephoto lense which I very much like. Unfortunately, that lense does not attach to the camera properly. Is there a lense adaptor I can get? I can't turn up anything on Google, but I am sure I am not searching for the right thing.

What mount is the vivitar lens?

I can't find a pic, but it is a circle with a single pin and 3 equally spaces tabs arcing horizontally out with a notch next to one of them.

I doubt there is an adapter. How new is the 200mm?

I'd say at least 8 years old. It's a damn fine lense, and I really can't afford another telephoto.

Most lenses are designed for a certain "mount". Unless the lens was designed for Nikon mounts (which differ from Canon and other mounts) then it won't work, and an adapter is unlikely. I don't think i've ever heard of an adapter that converts one mount to another. Sorry i can't be much help, i know nothing about Nikon's and even less about the different mounts.
