350W PSU enough for this system?

a 350 PSU would be enough for all of that right?

I feel that you can never have enough juice, better power in reserve than not enough..Go with Antec Neo 480W

anyways, why'd you get the 9800 xt? that's nowhere near top of the line, and for the price of it, you can get a video card that's much, much better.

Most people would tell you that PSU sucks and all, but I have it in my current Rig. Its a Turbolink 350W PSU. http://www.xoxide.com/35tuposu.html

I have been running my system for 2 years now (P4 2.4Ghz, 512SDRam, Radeon 9600XT), and my PSU is still running strong. Although it only has 12A on the 12v rail, so if you have a backup system, it'd be good to use there, but for the rig you listed, youd need a better PSU.

Im also in the process of building a new rig, and I went with an Antec TruePower 380, http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=17-103-907&depa=0 , that should suit you well, if u need more juice, then for 10 more $ you could get, http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=17-103-908&depa=0

The 12v rail is a bit weak, but I have used those turbolink PSU's in 3 systems, and have had 0 problems. I had to put it back in my system when my 420 TT died, and it ran everything fine.

It should be fine.
But a higher quality PSU would be better realibility wise, but I don't think you will have any problem.
That is as long as you don't have like 6 HD's...

after reading this im just going to get this case instead
http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=11-129-148&depa=1

i was basically just getting that previous one for looks, but i dont feel like spending money on a case and finding a good PSU, so i'll just shettle with antec, its the case im using right now and i like it, so i'll live

the reason i got the 98oo XT, is because, i have friends that work at best buy and compusa, and i basically got it extremely cheap, so i took what i could get 🙂

i just realized i didnt list my ram, so if anyone cares
its just 2 sticks of 512 pc3200 corsair value ram

i'm running a similar setup on an Antec SL350 PSU. Technically the 12v rail is a bit low for the amount of gear i have on there, but it's rock stable. I'll probably get a 450+ Antec PSU pretty soon. There are a few things i never cheap out on: PSU, RAM, and interface hardware (mouse,kb,monitor).

I posted a http://forums.anandtech.com/me...7&threadid=1367300 a while back that has some good research about PSU requirements for various setups.

nice case, very nice psu too btw. They just started putting in the 350W psus with 21a's on the +12v

The new SL350 and SL400 PSU's that antec is putting in their cases have 21+ amps on the 12V rail and hold up well on even pretty heavily loaded systems, My brother has an AMD A64 3200+, 2GB PC3200, 200GB HDD, 6800GT, DVD/CDRW combo drive, floppy + sound card and 2 120mm Enermax Adjustable fans system all running overclocked on one of Antec's SL350's and under full load(prime95 "blend" test and 3dmark 2k03 looping) the voltage sags a bit to like 11.6-7V but it's still well within specs and the 3.3V and 5V rails are pretty much right on all the time + his system is rock stable (running on an Asus K8N-E Deluxe)... Just my 2cents... and thanks for reading this book... hehe 🙂

If you're going sparkle, then I would go at least 300-350 W

When buying a power supply for A64 system the main thing to look for is a strong 12 volt rail.Amd recommends as a minimum 15 amps on the 12 volt rail.I would take that up a bit to be safe and also make sure to buy a good quality power supply.

LOL. I was just playin' devil's advocate. I'd go w/ a 350 also. That antec w/the 21amp rails looks good.
