Hello, I have bought everything except for the case and ps. I am probably going to get the Antec SLK3700AMB which comes with a smartpower 350W antec ps. I have an athlon 64 3500+, gig of ram, 6800GT, couple dvd burners, etc. I dont plan on over clocking now but will probably push it by the end of this year. Thanks for the help!

I'm considering the same case as well with a 3200+, 1GB, 6600GT and one or more optical drives. Do you think a Thermaltake SilentPower 410W tops the Antec SL350 in terms of stability?

I don't want to sit here and recommend 100 different cases to you since your tastes could be different than mine. The rule of thumb for the case is that you get what you pay for. You at least want a case in the 90-120 dollar range.

Coolermaster, Thermaltake, Kingwin, and Antec make pretty good cases. I would look for one that has 2 intake fans and one outlet fan for its cooling system. Thumb screws are also a +.

As for a PSU - I would look into a 430-480watt PSU from either Antec, Enermax, Thermaltake, CoolerMaster, or OCZ.

Thank you, that is good enough to help lower the amount of items to search through.

I would buy at least a PS with 420w with the 6800 GT in there. With everything that you are running you could fry a 350w. I have heard of it happening before.

350W should be good if it is a solid stable PS.

The only cases were it might be wanting is a few of the newest video cards are very power hungry and of course overclocking sometimes needs extra headroom.

I have an Antec 350 Smartblue in my Athlon XP2500+ and it should be good if I want to O/C that CPU - so far I've just run it at stock speeds but I want the option to bump it up to 2ghz or maybe higher.

Yeah I like to fool with my settings and what not so I am looking at something in the mid 400s or higher for a psu. At the moment I am looking at cases and my eye has fallen on the Thermaltake VA4000.

A quality 350 watt PSU like your Antec is enough for practically any single CPU non SLI setup you could imagine, no need to waste any money.

Yep, it's the old "more is always better" philosphy. Need more power Captain! If 2 ibuprofen is prescribed, why not take 4 and besure to kill that headache? $350 Watt power supply sufficient, heck, lets be sure and get a 500 W!!! ;) Probably a few guys getting peni$ enlargements too with that frame of mind.

350W of quality power is more than enough. I've got the older (18A 12V rail) 380W TruePower that comes with the Antec Sonata and it's powered my system without a hiccup.
