3500+ Newcastle (ewww)

I'm pretty sure these don't OC very well, and I don't want to do anything that will kill it, but can I get a decent performance boost from a light OC (something that won't reduce the lifespan of my CPU much or at all), or isn't it worth the effort?

Thanks,
Aip

I have the newcastle and have it running stable enough for hard out gaming @ 11 x 230 with 1:1 RAM ration PC3200 value RAM. Not a big CPU bus on it, but dont know if any more worth it. As it stands it is faster than 3800+

Anyone else have a successful "modest" oc on one of these? By modest I mean stock air cooling and it will still last a few years.

temporarily put your mem on a divider (to remove it from the equation) and simply see how far you can raise the FSB to. stick with the highest stable speed it can run on default voltage and it'll be fine. it's lifespan won't be weakened really until you start raising the voltage on it. keep a close eye on all your temps, of course.
