Yes this is a pretty popular combo, and it is actually the exact combo I was planning on getting. I held off on buying parts at the beginning of August because I was waiting for this motherboard to be released. However, after reading about the troubles that some people are having with this board, I may either go with Gigabyte's board or just go with a VIA chipset (and I was SO hoping to get away from VIA...the KT266a/1.33 T-Bird combo I had a few years ago left a bad taste in my mouth).
