They did a very good job and for $350 its well worth it. My car's paint was peeling and fading and a friend of mine scraped my fender/bumper. So he gave me someoney to paint the Bumper but i thought if i put in some more money i can get the whole car painted. I have read about Maaco and alot of people said they sucked and dont go for it. I just wanted the car painted just for the hell of it and look how they turned out!

BTW: This is a 1992 Lexus SC400 All-Stock

If you're painting an old car the same color, it's actually not a bad way to go. But if you're looking for a like new finish, have a new or a classic car, or a new color, I'd steer away. It's the kind of paint job that will keep you happy about your car for an extra five years. :)

Looks nice though I wonder how well it'll hold up compared to a factory paint job.

Quick, sell it for top dollar!

so how about some pictures of details? like inseams, cracks, etc.

I hear where maaco lacks is in the prepwork, not necessarily the paint.

sorry no, a friend of mine scraped my fender/bumper so since he gave me more than half to paint it i rushed it to maaco. BUT if u look at michael jackson back when he is good, then turned into a pig. thats the difference before the car was painted.

That's what I've understood, too. Like they use your old paint as the primer layer for the new paint, only putting on real primer in spots that HAVE to be primer'd, like if they actually sand down rust spots or do any body work.

Those Lexus SC's looked good in their day. Not like the current abortion that is the SC430.

It does look good. I've heard that in 1-2 years it will start peeling and looking like hell, but who knows.

the taurus i drove in college and for a little while after had gotten a maaco paint job in ~1996. still looked ok when i got rid of it in 2002. of course, it was white so i imagine it'd resist fading better than a darker color.

Did you have to do all the prep work yourself or what? If not, they probably just taped over things instead of actually taking anything off.

Then you hit it with another $350 paint job.
