Ok a while back I posted about this rig I was building on my $13/hr job, got lots of interesting responses :) The rig is paid for and built, I'm typing on it right now. It was 1600 for the 30" Dell and 2100 for the comp. Here are the specs from the original post:

Rig Specs

Anyway I have 300 bucks left to spend on this rig or something else for my room or elsewhere. I've since added Klipsh Promedia 2.1 speakers to the system so speakers are out as an option. Also I've upgraded the system to 3 Gbs of RAM so I'm not getting any more RAM. Please make some suggestions on what to spend the money on, its 350 bucks to be exact!

Remember it doesn't have to be for the rig it can be any cool toy. What you would spend it on?

I'll have to post some pics of the rigs some time but don't have my camera handy.

DAMN working on a 30" monitor is sexy!!

Oh and here's my original OT post about the rig for your entertainment.

With 350 bucks I better limit myself to one or the other... Hmm 350 bucks could buy me a hell of a bender, but then you have the whores.....hmm I'll get back to you on that one.

Another 2 or 4GB of DDR2, a 64-bit version of Windows, and a QAM tuner like a FusionHDTV or HDHomeRun.

You know what they say about a fool and his money.

Unless you use that rig to make money I can't see the reason for throwing good money into something that'll be worth a fraction of what it cost you in less than a year.

Save the money b/c something better is going to be coming out in a month or two and you'll want to upgrade.

Seems the whole purpose of the computer is to avoid just that :)

Investing in a good monitor and a good case are worth it. Everything else should be bang for the buck unless you really need it for work or something.

"A fool and his money are soon parted"

Might be why I buy mostly used parts (someone else takes the depreciation hit). Spending $90 for a X850 XT was one of the better purchases I've made in the years.

It must be nice to be able to waste money like that.

Spend that $350 on some shrink visits.
