When you were at your worst (asthma wise), would spicy food cause you to have an asthma attack? There haven't been any studies I've seen that have shown OC to cause serious asthma conditions. That doesn't mean it isn't dangerous (being sprayed and put in a constricting position can kill), and police are trained to spray and have you stay as spread out as possible. It is just a super spicy compound shot into your face. It sucks, but it isn't that bad. Tear gas is worse, but that clears you up really good afterwards.

everyone is different. i wouldnt' be surprised if something like that triggered some kind of asthmatic reaction on here. i've definitely had reactions to things like that randomly before. i can't remember spicy stuff specific though. but like i said, people are different.

Why should the cop try and wrestle two large people apart who decided to engage in a brawl over something that stupid, mace usage was appropriate IMO, also the "collapse" and subsequent ambulance trip to the hospital were probably motivated by a chance to further the cause to file a lawsuit.

Apparently you don't know crap about asthma. Just about ANYTHING can be an irritant that can cause asthmatic response for someone. Some people get asthma attacks from breathing cold air, some get an attack from being exposed to pollen, dust, insects, you name it. It is not at all hard to believe that someone could get an asthma attack from being maced, not at all.

Not that I agree with her by the way -- just because she had a bad reaction to it doesn't mean it was the cops fault or that she was wronged. She was just unlucky that she had a strong reaction to mace.

How exactly do you know that both participants actually wanted to engage in a brawl? How do you know one of them didn't attack the other one?

As is defending ghetto or bad redneck behavior based on some idea that it's part of your culture or you are somehow disadvantaged so it's okay. Lots of people have faced adversity, but it doesn't relieve you of the responsibility to not be a blight on society.

Everyone should be judged based on their actions as well as the way they present and conduct themselves in public. If you are talking loudly, swearing, wearing a ball cap with a marijuana leaf on it, showing butt crack, trailing a brood of obnoxious unwashed kids, paying for your groceries with food stamps and a cart full of alcohol with crisp $100 bills, well don't expect people to give you the thumbs up.

So let's get off the race thing and try addressing behavior.

People like airdata, emperous and crew are such perfect examples of this - if you discuss any negative behaviour, they go on tirades claiming you to be racist.

When in reality they are the ones associating negative behaviour with a certain race.

I'm not really one to keep track of who says what, except for a few posters who I won't name here. When posters say ignorant stuff I ignore them for the most part.

While we should be able to call out bad behavior independent of race, we have to admit that in some areas we have large groups of people of a single race who engage in thug or ghetto or ignorant redneck behavior and then they defend it based on some concept that it's part of their race's culture.

That's just wrong. Not all members of any race engage in poor behavior and those that don't should be ashamed of those who do. Black != ghetto thug. White != ignorant redneck. Mexican != illegal gang member. Even if in some area enough people act that way for it to seem like the norm. We must judge people based on their conduct and the content of their character.

But as I said before, if you don't want to be treated as a negative stereotype then don't dress or act like one. And don't call me racist if you play to the negative racial stereotype and I point it out. It's not my fault.
