I feel that a lot of roads that have a speed limit of 35 mph should be bumped up to 40 mph. Some could even be 45 mph.

thoughts?

Only a handful of streets around here that are over 35, ignoring the hideous highway situation that is.

You should come to Orange County. The speed limits on city streets here in Irvine are between 50-60mph :D

It seems like almost all the streets around here are 35...I'm surprised I have not gotten a ticket yet....way too easy to speed. One of the roads is essentially a minor 4 lane highway with exits...and it still has a 40mph speed limit...I can't believe I haven't gotten a ticket there....and I'm not even trying to speed...but if you turn onto that road and your not fully paying attention...you would automatically assume the speed limit is at least 50...if not 60.

Try going anywhere near 50 on Culver or Jamboree near marketplace during the day and let me know how that goes.

I work more in the Lake Forest/Foothill Ranch area...much less cars.

Although I can say I have gone 130 by the old base in a Ferrari.

Traffic's not so bad where I live (405/Jeffrey). I agree that the area around Marketplace is pretty much a clusterfuck.

We should set speed limits dynamically.

Speed limit = 100 - [5/7 * price of crude] - [ozone index/pi].

Drivers would be responsible for knowing these values and adjusting their speed accordingly.

If we didn't have things like stop lights and speed limits we would have many fewer accidents.

We have a 25 here in the neighborhood, I will follow people doing 55mph on the highway (posted 65mph) for my 4 mile commute and the fuckers then do 45-50 in the 25.

stupid.

Haha, no, I'm on the other side of the 405. But it's the closest exit to my place.

Ahhhh gotcha, I lived there for a year when I was at UCI. Fucking dump, but it was cheap.

I wonder if the night manager at the Ralphs still works there, he had tourettes. Was kinda interesting to talk to him sometimes, lol.

Irvine is mostly old and Asian people, I'm terrified at the thought of either going 50-60.

Well, you got that right. LOL

You theoretically could go 50 if the old asian lady in the E63 and the old guy in the Buick wouldnt stay neck and neck and block all of the lanes.

The worst was a Panamera Turbo going 35 in a 50, poor car.
