And for what reason would this even be brought up today, to attack dems again? Republicans just can't stand on their own merits anymore. Divert attention from their conduct to show poor conduct on their opposition. Totally useless thread topic.

Gotta disagree TS.

I don't know the motive behind the post, but what was wrong then is still wrong now, just as what Bush did will still be wrong in 40 years.

This is the response of a true partisan. So long as a crime was commited on your side it's pardonable. I hope you break out of the spell someday.

I have personally visited the spot where Teddy drove off the bridge/road.

The bridge has subsequently been torn down..

There is a tidal estuary that surrounds Chappy, and the infamous bridge crosses over a narrow area of this estuary on the way to a ferry crossing that provides access to the island from Martha's Vineyard (a much bigger island which is off Cape Cod)
If you have ever seen the bridge, and where he drove off of it, it is obvious that he must have been driving to fast (and probably was wasted), and failed to make a left hand turn onto the bridge. At a MINIMUM, you or I would have been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, or vehicular manslaughter under Massachussetts law. He was probably drunk, and had an expire (non-valid) drivers license. This would make his crime fit the description of vehicular homicide, under the influence of alcohol, while operating to endanger....mandatory minimum sentence 2.5 years (up to 15 years) plus fines and loss of license. This would have been IN ADDITION to the crime of leaving the scene of the accident, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Ah...the perks of being a Kennedy in Massachussetts.....

The Motive? The 34th Anniversary of Chappaquiddick. http://www.ytedk.com/
The Kopechne family has never gotten closure, & questions remain.
ie: why was alcohol found in Mary Jo's bloodstream when witnesses said she didn't drink & certainly didn't drink that night? Why was the nut & slut defence used to tarnish her name?

On a side note, I don't understand the need for a personal attack. Unless of course there is no substantive arguement, & personal attack must be used to divert attention to that fact.

MB posting a Bible verse to defend Ted Kennedy? *Head explodes.* What is next? Shinerburke posting a BBC piece that says we need more gun control and we need to impeach Bush?

Funny.
