In your case probably only because you have no AGP/PCI lock (I think its missing on your socket 754 mobo) . The chip itself is OK, but the 90nm ones are much better.

mine is a newcastle 3400+ on a lanparty at 2740 (274x10) @ 1.586v

can go as high as 2690 at only 1.534v

I heard it was because of the AGP thing as well, chinkgai maybe you have a better video card that can handle the extra bus, I don't know. Congrats on the great OCing though.

Have you gotten the rev. 24 bios for that mobo? It puts in 7:1 and 8:1 dividers. You should be able to do about 245 HTT, before your SATA craps out. Try overvolting the AGP to 1.65v, and upping your chipset voltage a couple of notches. If its a newcastle, you should be able to do decent, like 2.6ghz. I have lots of expeirence with that mobo (just sold it), so PM if you have questions.

EDIT: misread. you have a clawhammer. they don't overclock too well, unless you're prepared to put in massive voltage. It took 1.8v to get my 3200+ to 2.4. So, unless you have some damned fine cooling (good water or phase change), i wouldn't bother with voltage pass 1.65v. Should get you running maybe 11x220, for 2.42ghz. not bad.
