3400 running hot help !!!!

I just got my 3400 installed 754 and it is running on water cooling (koolance) at 57c idle

why is this ? i am using the 200g cooler

After about 20 min of load it hit 70c what should i do i took this processor out of a compaq that i got from compusa for $120 after 300 rebates.

Should i take this compaq back and get a different processor ???
 
I think i need a new power supply also cause when i hooked up all my drives my comp locks up... i have an allied 400w from the egg that is like $30 can anyone recommend a better one

 
thanks for all the replys. And yes it was very hot but to my suprise a bios updated and not using watercooling helped alot now i idle at 41c and load around 50c i believe.

I dont know what is wrong with my water cooling setup but it sucks vs an aircooler.


that would be a good ideal to ebay this computer its worth close to 500

over and over time and time again switchin back and forth to water and air


i ran out of AS3 i think i had now i need more i think i may get some 5 and a new HS/fan combo

now i dont know what to do about the water tubes running through my machine... 🙁 200 down the tube (pun intended)

sell it for 250 get a better chip.... hmmm idea but i am running sold at 2.4ghz it wont overclock at all stable it gets far to hot

what do you think should i try to ebay and get a different 754 chip? Also i got a nice seagate 80 gig sata drive i would lose and 256mb ram i gave to my roommate?

worth all the hasle for a 3200 for a couple bucks ?
