In about 34 days TA will lose it's #1 all-time worldwide ranking to the DPC. That's Dutch Power Cows for you guys that don't remember RC5. We are getting trounced on by about 9,000 candidates per day. That is roughly 90 or so AMD XP 2100's. We are losing 60k of our 275k lead per week. Our friends, the Cows, went and put a D2OL advertisement for their team on the front page of their board for two (2) weeks. Ouch!

TA isn't #1 in many projects. We need some real help, real fast.

Sorry Geoffs, but you knew I would make a list... :D

What you get:

1. You get to stomp some DPC Cows!
2. It is a small/medium size project. ie. Your name will be in lights with any production at all!
3. The problems from earlier versions of the client are all worked out. No down time. No running out of candidates.
4. The TA Art Department will make you a custom "Tipped Cow" as time allows.
5. Did I mention you get to stomp some DPC Cows?

Currently helping out the Seti guys and running United Devices..
As soon as Seti ends, or when the Seti team isn't needing the current help, I'll add a A64 3000+
a Dual Celeron and a Powerbook for the project, full time! It's not much, but anything counts! :)

i'll probably run this for a while after seti is over.... before I go back to being one of the top producers on our almost defunct ecc2 team :p

Looks like I might have to fire D2OL up again. Are the servers up more now than they used to be? How about the client I hear there have been some updates?

sorry to see threads like this......we are so close to the end in seti 1, and we need all the help we can get to stay in front.......I SWEAR....i will help you guys when seti ends......i will chose 1 or 2 worthy projects to run......:)

it's working much better than it used to and you can q up 2k worth of work just in case there is a problem with the servers.

Aside from the Sengent stats servers burping a couple if times in the last couple of weeks, the client and the backend have been performing great. I can't remember the last time I needed to reboot a machine because of the client causing problems. In addition, there is an updated version of the client coming out... dunno when... but they have been asking our input on what to focus on, so things really seem to be turned around in this project.

As Shame pointed out, the cows have really turned it on... yesterday they had 158 producing members to our 26 with new members joining every day.

Sooooo.... we've got about a month at the current rates before we lose the position we worked so hard for just 14 months ago!

thanks for the help everyone...I realize all of our primary resources are on Seti...but we are getting to the point of calling for all hands to man the battle stations on D2OL

The last step of the installation asks you for an email address.

After you fire up that first node, go HERE to register. Once you do that, you will be able to access a page that allows you to add nodes that you create to your user profile. I'm pretty sure you need to use the same email address that you used with the installation of the client (haven't done this in a looooooong time! :))

Then you carefully examine the stats daily, sniff out machines that you can assimilate for the cause, and help TA triumph once again! :D

Dasm... first SETI (got 12 machines running), then DPAD (Today, 4 machines) and now D2OL... is this ever going to end!!! I can't help all you guys!

+ this is getting veery expensive! :)

When Seti ends (I hope very soon!!!) lots of members will be switching projects.. Not only @ Anandtech, but world wide..
All 'small' projects need help right now.. DPAD, F@H, UD, D2OL etc etc...

But we must make sure that the D2OL team stays in #1!! :)

Something to think about, it?s easier to ramp up enough production to keep first than it would be to ramp up production to overtake them once we lose it. At the moment we need about 90 or so XP2100?s or equivalent to keep 1st but if they overtake us then we might need 120 or so reclaim the lead and move ahead in a reasonable amount of time. Best not to lose first place I think.

Anything anyone can spare will put off losing first. Who knows, we might not be able to ramp up enough at the moment but if we can delay losing first place until SETI ends then we stand a better chance of keeping it.

Ok my SETIQ is no longer downloading WUs. Once it is drained I'll switch over. Now if I could just find my password or user # or whatever it was for D2OL.:confused:

[EDIT] Oh I just remembered, for the dually do I still have to install the client twice and rename one of them or is the client more SMP friendly now?
