I was wondering if there is any way to get the new Tbred Athlons with the 333MHz FSB to work with this mobo at their proper speeds. I had heard that the Tbred multipliers are unlocked and can be adjusted so that you can have a 266MHz FSB and still have the rated clock speed by upping the multiplier. Could anyone please tell me if this is correct, or is it just speculation. I have also heard that the KT400, nForce2 chipsets allow you to choose any multiplier without unlocking the proc. , but is this so with the KT333 chipset as well. If you can please tell me if any of this is possible it would be greatly appreciated.

The newer tbreds with 333mhz fsb will work because the kt333 boards have a 1/5 divider which keeps all the pci/agp devices in spec when 166fsb is hit. It can't change the multipliers as the kt400 and nforce2 boards can.

Not quite right... I don't belive that the 333 athlons will work with the soyo... I have the same problem. While the kt 333 has built in support for the 1/5 divider, not all mobos make use of it... the dragon plus series is sadly lacking it

Dang, this sucks. So basically the highest I could go will be the 2600+. So probably no Barton for me either. Guess I will just wait for Athlon64.

heh one reason I left AMD was because I was always worried if saome new CPU or chipset would not work with the older device I wasn't planning to upgrade at the time. Too many choices makes for confused consumer.
