These drivers seem to have superior scaling in SLI:

No changes for us 6xx series owners? i still see the 327.xx WHQL drivers on the Nvidia site. They haven't updated it?

No changes for us 6xx series owners?

If it benefits the 7xx series it will benefit the 6xx series, as they both use the same basic architecture..

Just tested these drivers out, and my subjective impression so far is that they are fast! The 331.40 drivers were fast, but seemed to suffer from massive DPC spikes.

These new drivers seems to have rectified it. The only game I tested was BL2 as BL2 is the only game on my system that has performance issues due to how poorly the game is coded. These drivers are MUCH better than the 331.40 beta drivers, and offer an improved experience over the 327.23 WHQL drivers.

So I highly recommend these drivers, especially if you have SLI!

I see they have updated their nomenclature - R331 Game Ready Driver

Anyone know if these are just the 331.40 betas gone WHQL ? They appear to be the same. I don't like updating unless I have to because I have to manually put all my game profiles back into the list.

No, the driver branch in this set is newer than the 331.40 betas, so they're definitely not the same:

331.58: r331_54-5

331.40: r331_00-96

It just means the updated file is final now instead of testing.

How come my Geforce Experince version is way different that listed version? Mine shows 1.6.1.0, but release notes show installs GeForce Experience v8.3.23.1? What gives.

Why not use Nvidia Inspector to export/import the profiles/settings?

Does not fix the multiple monitor 120hz performance problems on the Windows 8 desktop. Still seeing flash/other stuff performance problems in Windows with a second monitor.

It's not really ideal. The newer drivers have updated or added profiles for games. You would want to keep these updates, but be able to import some user defined changes for existing profiles.

I was working on a utility that would do this. It takes two profile exports, one from the previous driver and one from the new driver, and merges in specified user defined changes from the old driver profile into the new driver profile. It would work through either game selection or some other selections using a basic UI. Didn't get too far with it since a major work related project came up at the time.

You can export just the customized profiles with NV Inspector.
And why would there be a problem anyway?

You have the default settings and then you have the actual customized settings. A newer driver only updates the former, not the latter. So you have the benefit of both. You cannot even edit the default settings, they are protected.

You actually don't lose the settings when you upgrade with nvidia. But there is a bug or 'feature?' for years now where when you update your drivers, the specific profiles you have listed in the driver control panel disappear. Some are still there, but anything that was not found automatically that you had to add will no longer be listed.

The custom settings are not actually lost, but the profiles do not show up in your list and you have to add them again.

Anyways, sounds like these are just the previous betas certified so it's not worth bothering with the upgrade.

I already said that these aren't the same drivers as the previous beta. The 331.58 driver is a later revision than the betas, as proven by the driver branch..
