3300+ What? Is there one?

No there is no such thing as a 3300. He probably has an oced a64 and is giving you the equivalent.
 
He's probably thinking of garbage. IIRC, it is a duron processor incorporated right into the board, no socket or upgradability. I'm not sure what the speed rating is in reference to, but rest assured it's not very fast. You see them alot on Ebay called XXXX+Pro.
 
The A64 3300 is part of amd's new budget line socket 754. It is 2.4ghz but with only 256 L2. They are using it in the low-mid range computers to come. The official release date as far as I know has not arrived.

ive seen it in a few HP machines, i think its only available to manufacturers, its 2.4Ghz and only has 256Kb cache, so think of it as a sempron only with 64 bit ability
