3.2GHz on a stock E6600...

Managed to get a stable setup on the P5B overclocking the E6600. BIOS CPU frequency 356, CPU VCore 1.3625V. Asus probe reports 54 deg C at idle, 60 deg C under 100% loading, VCore at 1.30V.

Corsair 2 x 1GB DDR2 667 ValueSelect set to 4-4-4-10, 533 and 2.10V in BIOS.

Managed to push XFX 7900GT to 600/1800 and score 24601 3DMarks03 and 10302 3DMarks05.

Stock HSF on E6600, but I've changed the Northbridge HS to a Thermaltake as the stock unit was a bit small and getting too hot.

One question - when I start the system, the unit powers up for about 1 sec, then off for about 2 sec, then starts by iteself OK. Does this every time. Why?

I'm getting the same behavior upon power up.
I guess it's normal, maybe to allow components to receive power in a progressive maner ?
Wild guess...

What BIOS versions are you guys using? Flash to the F4c BIOS if you can and that crap will stop.

F4C is for the Gigabyte DS3, not the Asus P5B.

And yes, it happens on all P5B\P5BDeluxes

maxstone : I am no overclocker expert so could you tell me the settings you put for CPU/RAM (freq/volt) and maybe Northbridge settings ?

With everything at Auto I can set the RAM at around 310mhz, beyond that it will crash.

Cheers

Y2klam : If I remember right, I managed yesterday to put FSB at 410 and multiplier of 8 using latest bios.
I had to up the Cpu vcore voltate to quite a lot, like 1.5V or so, Windows would boot but temperatures were too high. Checking cpu temp using Core Temp was showing at 54 idle and 60+ at full load and Core 2 Duo cpus will crash past 60 so I now think my limit is related to the cooling, I'm using a Aerocool GT-1000 and it's pretty obvious it's not quite good enough..
I am going to order a new HSF, probably the Tuniq Tower 120 which is supposed to be very efficient.
Once I receive that and managed to get something stable I will tell you settings I had to put to get something stable at 8*400+.
