Anyone have any input on how this game is as a flight sim? Worth it? Steam has it for 40 rather than 59, might be a good time to pick it up.

It's a serious sim game. They don't make them like this much anymore. I'm thinking I'm going to pick it up at that price. I have a joystick I can break out for this. It seems to look pretty amazing though.

I have a joystick as well, and I love me some flight sims. Hell I still play Enemy Engaged: Rah-66 vs Hokum. That game uses a crazy amount of keyboard keys, its a great sim but I'd like to find something a bit newer.

If anyone is looking for an amazing flight-sim that doesn't require a degree to operate, may I suggest:

Rise of Flight
http://riseofflight.com/en

It's set in WWI, and it is brilliant.

You can download and play to see if you like it before buying.

Miata: Thanks for that suggestion. RoF looks awesome. :)

Been more than a decade since I've enjoyed a flight sim. Time to re-live those days.

I've been interested in DCS A-10C for a while now. It's still pretty expensive, so I'll wait til later, but there's something appealing about actually learning how to fly a plane. I usually suck at flight sims but still, it would be extremely rewarding and fun to try it and get your aircraft off the ground.

It is a simulator more than a game. This video is pretty funny :D

The funniest part of that entire video is right here:

It can generally be distilled down to weapon control, flight control and electronics control.

And that gets reduced to throttle and joystick, weapon select, radar scan and radar lock on. :D

Chaff and flare can come in handy as well. ;)

I've been wanting this game for awhile. Main thing holding me back is I need to get a joystick, I have an ancient MS Sidewinder Pro in the closet still lol.

im watching video reviews of the game and its comedy.

each video you hear the guy cussing going WTF am i suposed to do...

The game has awesome visuals tho.. i personally wouldnt mind buying it, however i dont think i have the joystick hardware required to really enjoy this game.

But man... watching Coop on the game makes me want to get it more, but u would need a buddy who knows the game better then you if not as well as you to really enjoy it.

Otherwise u would hear over team speak Christ.. F!!! what the hell are we suposed to do....

I've been enjoying this one even with my cheap-ass Logitech attack 3. I'm not always in the mood for it, but it's an amazing sim. There's some good training, and tons of options to make it easier to get into. That said, it's definitely a HARDCORE sim. It will take time, no doubt.

But using a friggin flying cannon to blow shit up, c'mon, that's just pure awesomeness no matter how you look at it.
