32nm 1366 chips

Aside from all the reasons why going to a Sandybridge would be money better spent, what is it worth for getting a 32nm 1366 socket chip? Do they run cooler, overclock better than the current 45nm 1366 chips, etc. ???

We already have 32nm 1366 chips. They overclock better, but not that much better. The change from 45-32nm is mostly used to add 2 more cores into the die.

I had a 970 ordered and ended up refusing it because it wasn't worth it even though it was a drop in replacement. I'm waiting on the 2011 platform to see what to upgrade to.

Since you are a gamer there is little reason to bother with the 1155/1366 CPUs when Intel charges 2500k for the same price as a i5-760 when the former is vastly superior in any metric to the latter.

There are 32nm quads w/ 12 MB L3 cache (Xeon E5620 is an example) that are OK-priced as well. From what I have seen, they tend to OC a little better than 45nm quads, and the extra cache helps a little bit, but it would be a sidegrade IMHO. They are better in power usage though...
