best buy sells kingston 32mb sdram $49.99 - $15.00 mail in rebate (prints on recipet)

(info on ram: 32mb 168 pin DIMM SDRAM PC 100 4m x 64)

get office max ad (they are advertising same ram for $29.99)

1. buy ram at full price at best buy.
2. immedietly get in line in the "returns counter" have them do a price match + 10%. (49.99-29.99 = $20.00), 10% of $20.00 is $2.00 so $49.99-22.00 = $27.99
3. you will get the ram for $27.99- $15 rebate = $12.99! (+ tax of course)

Limit: 2 rebates per person..

My guess is that Lex (wisely) suggests that you do the PM AFTER the purchase because, like most of us, lex has probably been jerked around by an overzealous BB head cashier or assistant manager who ignores BB policy, thinks it is reasonable to include the mail-in rebate in the pricematch, and only gives you $5.50 back instead of $22. Doing it AFTER your purchase, when you have the receipt in your hand that says $50, and the ad in your other hand that says $30, just makes it simple. Was I right, Lex?

ygreenkitty- that rebate is for the CompactFlash cards that Kingston makes. This is most likely a BB only rebate but my question still remains as to whether you can buy it online or not.

Yes, you could ATTEMPT to do a pricematch at the register... but I just get "headaches" when I do that.. Stand around waiting for a "manager" for like 30 minutes, who cant do it, or give you hassle..

If you read their policy it says "After your purchase" if you find a lower price... I just "follow their rules" to make it easier for everyone.. (you and the manager and the drone checkout person)

Thanks to the OP. I went to Office Max, picked up a flyer, bought two chips, pricematched it. Brought my cost down to $56, I'll send in the two $15 rebates and have 64 meg for $26. I'm happy. I'm putting together a little system for my pregnant, broke, sister and brother-in-law to replace their Ancient (as in 286) Compaq.
