32GB SSD mSATA and 1TB HDD automatically got unallocated

I bought a laptop which came with 1 TB HDD and 32GB SSD mSATA. Initially I Installed my Windows 8 on 32GB SSD and disabled pagefile to free some space. Two days later, I left my laptop on standby mode and when after few hours I returned, it was rebooted Win 8 showed an error that you need to repair the windows and I was unable to do it. So I tried a new install, in the menu where we specify the installation drive, it showed SSD as 29.9GB free of 29.9GB. It just was
made automatically raw. I installed windows on HDD and then formatted SSD to have it shown again.

The same day at night, I downloaded Intel rapid Storage technology and it detected my SSD. I clicked accelerated mode and it said that now my SSD is used as cache and it disappeared from my computer. So far good enough. My system was ok even after some reboots as I was installing drivers. At night, I placed the lid down and went to sleep I didn't shut down. In morning when I got my lid up, I saw windows error that Your System has recovered from an error and needs to restart. If you want further information, search CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. nd the laptop restarted. After that I saw the black screen that no boot device found. plz insert boot device and restart.

I inserted win 8 dvd and In the drive selection menu, there were no drives to be shown. so I shut down and disconnected my hdd and then cancelled the RAID mode and only then I was able to find my 32GB "raw" SSD and also "raw" HDD.

Can anyone explain why this happened both times. A friend says t hat first time it was because you installed OS on SSD but your System Reserved 350MB partition is in HDD. SO OS could not find it and it got corrupted. For the second time he says that the RAID caused problem as for RAID you need equal sized disks.

I am new and not know much I have searched the net and haven't found anything similar. Can anyone please help me? Right now I am just using mSATA as a simple 30GB drive. I really want to use it as the cache.

Plz help in what caused the errors and what should I do.

Install OS on ssd with hdd disconnected.when all finish connect the hdd

So, in both cases, you lost data when you put the laptop to hibernate mode ?
Check SMART of all your devices (with crystaldiskinfo (free)), and if all is well there, next step is to run memtest86+ to rule out any memory issues (also free, should have 0 errors, and let it run overnight).

Memtest86+ don't need you to install a OS, you can just boot into that via CD or USB thumbdrive.

Once that is done, and you don't have any errors, we can go to the next step. :)

Thanks for the reply. I was out somewhere so could not get in touch in time. I ran crystaldiskinfo and found the results. Anyways i tell you one interesting thing.
I installed windows on my HDD. I made the partitions of HDD and also I formatted the SSD. I didnot make any iRST thing. I just ade SSD as a simple partition for me to put data. I didnot even put data on it. However one day, my SSD once again got RAW and says I need to format. Since then I have not formattd it and left it as it is. Whenever I start my Windows, It says Checking Disk G for erros 100%. Disk G is my SSD.

I have not run memtest but I hope there is no need.
