You're not going to have the general consumer go into a store and care whether it's flash or not. They're going to look at the price, then how much it holds. They will then come to the conclusion that it's expensive.

You're not going to have the general consumer go into a store and care whether it's flash or not. They're going to look at the price, then how much it holds. They will then come to the conclusion that it's expensive.

This isn't a product for the general consumer. The general consumer probably doesn't even know this exists, and besides they probably already have an iPod.

You also have to remember that this thing is considerably smaller than the hard drive based players, and is expandable (as far as anyone knows it is only limited by the SDHC spec), which means you can add more storage space later. They aren't going to be selling millions of these, and this is a top of the line model (most people are likely going to be buying the 4-8, possibly 16 GB versions of this player). A high price is to be expected. Obviously flash memory is not cost effective yet, but it is getting a lot better.

expensive or not a 32GB flash based player which you can make a 48 GB flash player with a AddIn card is pure fucking win

a 400$+ 48GB flash based MP3/Video player is more then worth the money, the sheepeople out there will get whatever they are brainwashed to buy, generally an ipod, but people who want something better will get whatever they want


yes i am going to spend more for less space,

flash > HDD
Creative > apple or MS

But then they'll look at the battery life and features, and rethink their original decision. I'll be buying one in the spring, I loved my ZVM until it died
